As long as she continues to have a problem with alcohol and continues to surround herself with people that feed or supply her alcoholism she will constantly put you down for anything that you do, and any accomplishment that you have. She’s jealous of your success and is using it as a way to make you feel bad for doing better than her when she was your age and as a way to keep you under her thumb. It’s a manipulation tactic. You’re right! You’re 20 years old. You’re supposed to be living your life, not mothering the woman who gave birth to you. Unfortunately sometimes you just have to leave it all behind, and let her figure it out. She will always be this way until she can get sober but you don’t have to stick around and be treated like shit for asserting your adulthood and your feelings..
